faq

Do you provide support?

Answer. Yes, all of our web hosting packages include support.

What is the difference between shared and cloud hosting?

Answer.

In Shared Web Hosting, multiple clients are hosted on a single server i.e. the clients share the server's resources. This helps reduce the cost, since the cost of the server and its resources are spread over all the clients/packages hosted on the server. Shared Hosting is perfect for personal websites, small and mid-sized businesses that do not require all the resources of a server.  These are generally the least expensive servers, with ours starting at $2.99 a month. These servers are best suited for a business or personal web page.

Cloud Hosting is a faster and more advanced form of Shared Hosting. It gives you access to the simple and familiar cPanel, and is powered by robust Cloud Technologies. Cloud Hosting gives you the power to scale your RAM and CPU resources, and is run on a full SSD server. The basic difference between Cloud Hosting and Shared Hosting is the underlying technology that powers both products. Shared hosting is generally more than one account sharing the resources on a single server, where cloud hosting allows one account to use the resources of multiple servers, often called a pool. With Cloud hosting, you get the ability to scale your CPU and RAM, and an extra boost for your website with an all Solid State Drive (SSD) server stack. In a nutshell you get a faster, more capable server. Dedicated cloud hosting starts at $9.99 a month for a single domain personal cloud, and tops out at $17.99 a month for Professional hosting with unlimited domains.  These hosts are best suited for enterprise level businesses. If you plan to run a busy classroom or lots of video advertisements, you may want to look at these.

Do you provide any one click install scripts along with Cloud Hosting?

Answer. Yes - we provide 'Quick Install' which is accessible from your cPanel. Quick Install allows you to plug and play various scripts like WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, shopping carts like Zencart, Magento and various other billing, social networking, support and chat modules.

How much does web hosting cost?

Answer. This depends on which of our services you choose. Hosting packages range from the cheapest at $2.99 a month to enterpise level packages that can cost hundreds. This is really dependent on how much space you need and other cloud server capabilities.

Please contact us if you have any doubts on which hosting service or features to purchase and we can help you choose the best for you. We absolutely want you to be happy with your choices.

Does Rich Enterprises host these servers locally?

Answer. We did do that at one time, but not anymore. Over the years we found the bandwidth requirements to be too much, even for our fiber internet connection. We got out of the business of direct hosting and became hosting resellers instead. This is a good thing because this means these servers can be placed in multiple locations to spread the load out and optimize bandwidth.

What this means for you is faster page loads and better uptime. This also means that you gain the advantage of working with a larger organization with more support personnel. We chose the hosts we did based on their quality and support. If I can't contact the web host directly and have a conversation with them then neither can you, and that's not good for either of us.

I will say, that if you do have any problems with your service or support then please contact me and I will get it resolved.
